A woman was sliced in half, a girl was tortured to death, and this cute black haired beauty slit so many throats that the entire thing just looks awesome. Yet here is Akame ga Kill showcasing gory death scenes in the first episode. It didn’t feel right at first, because Shounen often starts with a journey and doesn’t really pull a death scene until the story settles. I was expecting a story structure and some needed exposition about the world the main character is in, but the anime just decided to kill off a bunch of people. The first episode didn’t really feel that good. Gawd, my gut was wrong on this one but the anime did start off a bit bumpy. I don’t even know if those shows are terrible, but my gut just wanted me to stay away from these shows until I finish the rest of the Summer 2014 lineup. I lumped it together with shows like Locodol and Jinsei. I seriously tried to put this off as much as I could, and I hate myself for doing that. A satisfying death to an evil enemy? An epic fight to send off a character? Two mega forces clashing, and the encounter ending in just three episodes? This is Shounen at its finest, and it’s truly a practice at what makes the genre amazing. This show doesn’t do that, as much, and it gives us pay off one after the other. Shounen often leads its audience on, and drag fights out unnecessarily. At its core, Akame ga Kill is a satisfying show, because it delivers on its promise. I followed the characters, I got excited at every showdown, and I enjoyed every death scene. I consumed the remaining episodes I haven’t seen in just three days, and I was totally engaged with the show. It embodies the Shounen genre proudly, and I just love it. Everything that makes the genre great is nicely represented in this anime, and the show even shares the genres weakness to a tee. Akame ga Kill is a celebration of the genre, actually. I mean a sh*t ton of death, but it harks back to what makes Shounen anime great. It’s action packed, it has amazing gore and it features a lot of death. This show is actually pretty gawd damn incredible. Of course, if I bothered to watch a little more, then I would understand why this anime exists. The first episode didn’t really catch my attention, and I frowned at its haphazard storytelling. The flickering screen kinda added to the awful experience I had with the first few episodes, so I really didn’t want to go back and re-watch this. I saw the first few episodes of this anime back in my old laptop. Only those that steeled themselves can truly move forward. Tatsumi is heading into war, and he should be prepared because a lot of people die in battles. They kill the evil people of the capital while also helping the rebel groups slowly build a revolution. After learning of this great injustice, he soon joins the assassin group Night Raid. He learns this the hard way when he discovers his friends were brutally tortured in the city. He soon realizes that the place is corrupt and unwelcoming. The anime follows Tatsumi as he tries to make it big in his nation’s capital. It’s a twenty four episode anime about a bunch of Shounen characters killing each other, and it’s f*cking awesome. This anime is part of the Summer 2014 lineup, and it’s called Akame ga Kill. Her major weakness is that she leaves her back vulnerable to attacks. This is review number four hundred and three. She also appears to be quite adept in hand to hand combat, as she was seen sparring with Akame. ![]() Mine also carries an eye piece stored in a compartment inside her teigu, allowing her to scout and snipe from a distance. One of those parts allows her to slash with spirit energy, another allows her to fire quicker shots in succession but this considerably lowers her attack power. She can also switch parts with her Teigu. ![]() The energy output is proportional to the user feeling of danger, and it overheats on continuous usage. Her proficiency in its use allows her to strike any target with extreme precision. Mine wields a powerful Teigu in the form of a rifle called the "Roman Artillery: Pumpkin" that that can shoot in 3 modes: sniper, machine gun and long barrel, it fires highly concentrated piercing shots of spirit energy. At the same time, she has demonstrated being very worried about Tatsumi's well-being, especially when he has not returned to the hideout (due to having been imprisoned) contemplating how she would have never thought she would become so anxious due to lack of contact with someone. Since having begun to date Tatsumi, she has shown a jealous side, such as over Leone's usual flirty advances into Tatsumi, as well as lecturing him how he has to refuse such advances firmly as he now has a girlfriend. Over time, she develops romantic feelings for Tatsumi who returns the same feelings and the two having officially entered an intimate relationship.
